Thank you for visiting my site. My name is Chris Silk, and I specialise in documentary event and documentary wedding photography. 'Documentary' is a phrase you may have heard before, but what does this mean exactly?

 

In a literal sense, it means documenting the real event as it really happens. It's about telling the story through your photographs. That's why it's so important for me to work in the style I do - quietly and unobtrusively, without manipulating the scene or setting up photographs for my own benefit. I'll never be bossing you or your guests around - quite the opposite. I find it's best for me to blend in, almost like another guest. In this way, my clients can truly relax and enjoy the moment around me, without being distracted by the photography or made to feel controlled in any way.

 

In return, you'll get beautiful storytelling images with the natural expressions and genuine emotions that are so flattering. It's the style of photography that works best for me - and the style that appeals to so many of my clients, many of whom don't necessarily enjoy being in front of the camera and enjoy the opportunity to relax, and be themselves, with the people who matter most.

 

Ultimately, the photographs I'm taking are about the moment as it really happened - not as I made it happen. My photography is about your event, and that's what I want to shine through.
