The Legends Festival Photography at Stoke Park, Guildford

The Guildford Legends Festival followed on from the Bristol Legends I’d covered one week earlier, as I continued to bring Starlight Concerts a larger portfolio of images for their advertising and promotion material.

Starlight had specifically asked me for more candid photographs of the audience and the crowd enjoying themselves. This was perfect for my documentary event photography style, which sees me act candidly and unobtrusively to show a true narrative of the occasion, without people being distracted by the photography. It allows the crowd to fully immerse themselves in the moment, and allows me to capture their natural expressions.

And in this case, their natural expressions were ones of joy, unity and truly letting themselves go! Some of the UK’s top tribute bands brought well-known hits by Queen, Take That, Robbie Williams, Duran Duran and many more alive in Guildford’s Stoke Park – with uncanny resemblance to the real acts.

The Guildford Legends Festival continued the vivid atmosphere of colourful fun and energy, and was truly a pleasure to photograph.
