A couple of weeks ago, I had the pleasure of providing wedding party photography in Surrey – but this time, there was a little bit of a difference.

Some of my event photography work comes via PopTop, the online event services booking platform, on which I also advertise. But this time it was PopTop themselves who contacted me directly. They wanted new photographs for their own website, and as one of their registered suppliers, they turned to me for help.

Specifically, they wanted images that would motivate and inspire, encouraging visitors to host their own private events with PopTop registered suppliers. This could be photographers, caterers, entertainers, musicians and anything in-between! This was the first of two bookings, and this time around, PopTop specifically tasked me with catering photography.

The professional chef at the party I attended was Chef Lopez, an award-winning bespoke private caterer. So part of my remit was promotional photography for Chef Lopez to use in advertising his own event catering business on PopTop.

PopTop wanted photographs of the caterers at work, the guests interacting and enjoying the food, and a smaller number of my usual style of event photographs to capture the atmosphere of the party itself. So all very much more on the side of publicity photography this time around, and ultimately all aimed at offering party inspiration to visitors on the PopTop site, who are thinking of organising an event themselves.
