It doesn’t come much better than the world-famous Abbey Road Studios for a location steeped in creative history. So I was delighted to join hundreds of lucky Rock Choir ladies and gents in Abbey Road’s huge, world-famous Studio 1 and the iconic Beatles’ Studio 2, where so many of the fab four’s hits were recorded.
It was for four recording sessions and two days of documentary event photography – and Rock Choir certainly know how to have a good time. Groups from the 20,000 strong, nationwide contemporary choir were recording a selection of tracks, and I photographed the weekend as it happened – looking to capture the story of their day through reportage music photography and event photography. It’s probably changed a lot since the Beatles came together in the same spot, but none of the Abbey Road magic has gone since then.
